For J and R

Dear J,

Congratulations! I was pleasantly surprised to hear that you got engaged (and at the Great Wall of China, no less)! I’m very, very happy for you and R. :D

I know you guys have started with the planning (which I hear is not an easy feat). Being a good friend that I am, I’ve scoured Etsy for some stuff that might help you with the most important things for your big day.

Invitations

Passport invites. I know this has been done before but I thought that this would be appropriate for you guys since you love to travel.

Cake / Cupcake Topper

What would a cake be without a topper? And none of those creepy look-a-like toppers, if you please. They scare the children.

Ring Bearer Pillow

I know you love the color green, so voila! A green ring bearer pillow!

Seating Assignments

Have you heard of river rocks used as a place holder? I haven’t! These can be a reference to your mountaineering experiences! They can be customized AND can double as a favor for your guests. Such useful things, these rocks.

Garter

Ah, the garter. Did you know that chartreuse is a color halfway between yellow and GREEN?

Guest Book Kit

Working within the green theme, I found this alternative to the usual guest book. This also reminds me of you since you always use the “I Have To Get My Laundry Before the Shop Closes Or I Will Come In Wearing A Gown (or a Swimsuit) To Work Tomorrow” card.

Favors

Kisses in a rose! Two of them to be exact. A nice (and tasty) surprise for your guests!

Getaway Car Accessory

The most awesome thing ever.

Dear R,

I haven’t forgotten about you! Congratulations as well!  Take care of my friend or you’re dead. :P

I found something for you as well.

The Groom Emergency Quick Kit

I don’t think you’ll be needing the comb though. Hehe.

Can’t wait to see you guys in December!

Married!

Married!
09.20.09

We got married last 20th of September! <3

It was a simple (and short) ceremony celebrated with some of our closest friends. There weren’t any great pomp with the solemnisation. Of course, it would have been better if our families were there but we’re planning to have a church wedding to make up for that. But it was really lovely. :)

Many, many thanks to my friends C and K for all the help with the preparations and for acting as my photographers during the ceremony! We are also grateful to all our friends who came and joined us in our special day. :)

I would also like to recommend Lloyd, our caterer. His Pork and Squid adobo is awesome! (Yes, you read that right, Pork AND Squid adobo!)

Many people have been asking what it feels like to be married. For me, it isn’t much different from how we were before. Having a piece of paper doesn’t change how we feel towards each other, it’s just that now we each have a pretty ring that we always wear. :P

Sometimes it still feels weird telling everyone that I’m married. Because for me the boyps will always be boyps. :D
